The Education Bureau today (June 15) announced a re-appointment to the Quality Education Fund Steering Committee (QEFSC).
Mr Pang Yiu-kai has been re-appointed as chairman of QEFSC for another two and a half years with effect from July 1. Mr Pang is currently the Chief Executive of Hongkong Land Limited and has led the committee since January 2006.
"I am confident that with the appointment, the Quality Education Fund (QEF) will continue its excellent work in the promotion of quality school education in Hong Kong," the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen said.
The QEF was established in early 1998 with a capital of $5 billion to fund community initiatives which promote quality education in Hong Kong. QEFSC was set up to advise on the policies and operation of QEF.
Since its establishment, the fund has supported more than 7,400 projects with a total grant of $3.62 billion.
