A multimedia mask theatre conjures a Kingdom of Time
****************************************************

Local and Canadian artists will delight audiences of all ages with an original multimedia mask theatre "The Hands of Time" presenting a fusion of beautifully crafted giant puppets, shadow puppets, music, dance and circus arts. The fun adventure will bring families into an enchanting Kingdom of Time.

Created by local performing group All Theatre Art Association, "The Hands of Time" is one of the programmmes of the International Arts Carnival presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be staged at 7.30pm on July 17 and 18; 3pm on July 18 and 19; and 11am on July 19 at the Kwai Tsing Theatre Black Box Theatre.

All Theatre Art Association promises the wacky production will uplift hearts, amuse young audiences and inspire adults to overcome challenges.

The legend goes like this: Mother Earth's heartbeat inspires the tick tock of the clock and this rhythm fuels the musical passions of everyone in the Kingdom of Time. The four seasons dance happily, time goblins conjure up circus tricks, the king plays the blues on his saxophone and the queen sings and dances to her favourite rumba and cha cha. While the prince, the only heir to the throne, fearfully refuses to take up the family business of time-keeping. In the kitchen, maids 3, 6 and 9 stomp around and plot a rebellion. They steal the king's telescope of power and disturb the balance of nature. The Kingdom of Time is thrown into the darkness. Can the Prince and his beloved Maid 12 save the kingdom and bring back the light?

Multimedia mask theatre "The Hands of Time" is performed with songs in English, occasional English dialogue and Chinese surtitles.
