Private Buildings Cleansing Campaign launched in Central & Western District (with photos)

     The Central & Western District Office today (June 13) launched a Private Buildings Cleansing Campaign, joining owners' organisations in the district help prevent the spread of human swine flu.

     The Private Building Cleansing Campaign was launched with a health talk in the Bonham Road Government Primary School this afternoon. A nurse of the Department of Health explained to the audience of 100, coming from owners' organisations and property management companies in the district, the ways of cleaning in buildings.

     The Central & Western District Officer Mrs Winnie Ho, the Central & Western District Council Vice Chairman Mr Stephen Chan Chit-kwai joined representatives of Multi Storey Building Owners Association of Central District, Central & Western Mid-Levels Owners Association and Multi Storey Building Owners Association of Western District at a private building in Bonham Road after the talk. They inspected the building's hygiene condition and the cleansing works there. Twenty litres of bleach will be given to each owners' organisations joining the campaign by the District Office, as a support to the cleansing works.

     Mrs Ho said, "The Central & Western District Office has organised some promotion and cleaning activities recently to raise people's awareness in the fight against the human swine flu. This Private Building Cleansing Campaign is to disseminate the important message of keeping buildings clean to owners' organisations and residents."

     Mr Chan said, "The Central & Western District Council will continue to work closely with the owners' organisations in the district to ensure good hygiene condition of buildings."
