Approved Chek Lap Kok Outline Zoning Plan amended

     The Town Planning Board today (June 12) announced amendments to the approved Chek Lap Kok Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

     The amendments mainly involve extending the planning scheme boundary at the northeastern water of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and the eastern shore of HKIA by 172.38 hectares for the development of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities, Hong Kong Link Road, Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link Southern Landfall, and the reprovisioning of the existing Fire Services Department Sea Rescue Facilities. Appropriate zonings with maximum building heights are designated to these sites.

     To facilitate the development of Hong Kong Link Road and its associated supporting facilities, a strip of land along the eastern shore of the HKIA is rezoned from "Coastal Protection Area" ("CPA") to "Other Specified Uses" ("OU") annotated "Highways Maintenance Area", "OU" annotated "Amenity Area" and area shown as 'Road', and a site at the eastern shore is rezoned from "Commercial" to an area shown as 'Road'.

     Consequential to the amendments of the Plan, new sets of Notes for the "OU" annotated "Boundary Crossing Facilities", "OU" annotated "Highways Maintenance Area", "OU" annotated "Sea Rescue Station", "OU" annotated "Ventilation Building", "OU" annotated "Satellite Control Building" and "OU" annotated "Amenity Area" zones are incorporated, and the set of Notes for "CPA" zone is deleted.
  
     The draft Chek Lap Kok OZP No S/I-CLK/11, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Sai Kung and Islands District Planning Office and the Islands District Offices in Central, Mui Wo and Tung Chung.

     Any person can make written representations in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before August 12. Representations made to the board will be available for public inspection.

     Copies of the draft Chek Lap Kok OZP No S/I-CLK/11 are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed on the board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
