Attention Duty Announcer, Radio and TV Stations:

Please broadcast the following special announcement immediately, and repeat it at frequent intervals:

"The Government has decided that all primary schools, kindergartens, kindergartens cum child care centres, and special schools have to suspend classes for 14 days from today (June 12) onwards to prevent the transmission of human swine influenza.

The Social Welfare Department advises people not to take their children or family members to child care centres, day elderly services units and day rehabilitation services units.  However, these centres will remain open to serve those whose families cannot provide alternative care for them.  People are reminded to observe the advice on the precautionary measures against human swine influenza issued by the Government.

In addition, those who may be experiencing stress or emotional problems as a result of the flu are welcome to call the 24-hour Human Swine Influenza Emotional Support Hotlines for counselling, support and assistance. The hotlines manned by social workers of the Family Crisis Support Centre of Caritas-Hong Kong and the CEASE Crisis Centre of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals are as follows:

Family Crisis Support Centre:   3162 8883
     CEASE Crisis Centre:            2455 5859"
