Appointments to Advisory Committee on Post-office Employment for Former Chief Executives and Politically Appointed Officials

     The Government today (June 10) announced that the Chief Executive has appointed Mr Moses Cheng Mo-chi as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Post-office Employment for Former Chief Executives and Politically Appointed Officials, and Mr Tim Lui Tim-leung as a member of the advisory committee. The above new appointments are for two years with effect from today.

     The Chief Executive has also re-appointed Professor Lee Chack-fun, Dr Norman Leung Nai-pang and Dr Elizabeth Shing Shiu-ching as members of the advisory committee. The above re-appointments are for two years beginning from April 15.

     A government spokesman said, "We are confident that, under the chairmanship of Mr Cheng and with the wealth of experience of its members, the advisory committee will continue to discharge its function in a professional manner and play a vital role in maintaining community confidence in the integrity of the public service."

     The Government also expressed sincere gratitude for the service of Justice Pang Kin-kee and Mr Henry Fan Hung-ling in the past four years.  Justice Pang and Mr Fan have served as the Chairman and a member of the advisory committee since it was first set up in 2005.

     The terms of reference of the advisory committee are:

(a) to draw up the principles and criteria to be adopted for the purpose of advising former Chief Executives and politically appointed officials on their post-office employment or appointment; and

(b) on the basis of the principles and criteria adopted, to consider and advise former Chief Executives and politically appointed officials on post-office employment or appointment.
