The Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (HKCMCL) today (June 4) announced the re-appointment of six serving non-Government directors and appointment of two new directors to its board of directors.
The six serving directors re-appointed are Mr John E Strickland, the chairman of the board; Mr Anthony Au Wai-hung, Ms Winnie J Ng, Mr Rock Chen Chung-nin, Mr Chia Kok-onn and Ms Wong Sau-ying. Mr Strickland was re-appointed for a term of one year while the others were re-appointed for a term of two years, both starting from tomorrow (June 5).
The two new directors are Mr George Hongchoy Kwok-lung and Mr Peter Liu Yun-kwan. Mr HongChoy is the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of the Link Management Limited while Mr Liu is the Chief Information Officer of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited. Their rich experience in financial management and IT industry should be valuable to the HKCMCL Board. Both are also appointed for a term of two years starting from tomorrow (June 5) to June 4, 2011.
With the two incumbent directors, Mr Herman Hu Shao-ming and Mr Lee Shing-see, who were appointed on May 1, 2008 for a term of two years, there are 10 non-government directors and two government directors on the board. HKCMCL believed that the new board comprises a good mix of expertise from the business community and the IT industry. "With the vision, leadership and enthusiasm of the directors, we will continue to work towards the attainment of Cyberport's mission of creating a strategic cluster of quality IT and related companies as well as a critical mass of professionals in Hong Kong, " a spokesman for the HKCMCL said.
HKCMCL also expressed gratitude to the two outgoing directors, Ms Florence Chan, and Mr Daniel Lai, for their valuable support and contribution to the Cyberport over the years.

HKCMCL is one of the three private and wholly-owned companies set up by the Government under the Financial Secretary Incorporated to oversee the development, operation and management of the Cyberport Project. The board of directors provides policy and strategic guidance to HKCMCL on its business development, as well as oversight over corporate performance and governance.
