The Labour Department will hold a job fair at 1/F, Fu Tung Shopping Centre, Fu Tung Estate, Tung Chung, tomorrow (June 5) from 11am to 6pm.
Eleven companies will set up counters and offer more than 500 vacancies for on-the-spot recruitment.
Companies joining the job fair come from various industries including catering, retail and property management. Vacancies offered cover positions such as shop assistant, waiter/waitress, chef, security guard, officer trainee and shop supervisor. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may click to the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
Seventy-eight percent of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs and most offer a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $9,000. Around 70% of the vacancies require Form 3 educational level or below and around 60% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers may submit job applications and have the opportunity for a selection interview on-the-spot. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot job-seeking registration. Admission is free. All members of the public are welcome.
