Amendments to works at bathing beach in Lung Mei gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (May 29) on amendments to road works at the bathing beach in Lung Mei, Tai Po.

     The proposed amendments include deletion of some proposed works within the limit of the works area; widening of a section of Ting Kok Road to a single two-way three-lane carriageway and reprovision of a section of an existing footpath on the southern side of the widened Ting Kok Road; construction of a fee-paying public car park with a signalised junction at egress/ingress; relocation of a bus stop on the southern side of the widened Ting Kok Road; permanent closure and demolition or temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing carriageway and footpath; and ancillary works such as construction of safety islands, dropped kerbs, retaining walls and seawalls.

     The amendment plan and scheme are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

(i)  Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen¡¦s Road Central;

(ii) Tai Po District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po; and

(iii)District Lands Office, Tai Po, 1st Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po.

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed amendments should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before July 28.
