The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (May 27) obtained one order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $190,000 against an employer in the District Court.
The District Court today issued its judgment against one employer, Law Tim Wing trading as Fu Wing Transportation Co. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $199,659.12, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 10 employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court also ordered the defendant to pay costs of $930.
