Tsuen Wan food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises (¤»¦X§{), at Shop 4A, ground floor, Cheong Tai Building, 8 Tsuen Hing Path, was ordered to suspend business from today (May 25) to June 7.

     "In June and October last year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the premises," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     "A total fine of $3,200 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."

     He said the food premises also had two convictions in March and December, 2007, for the same offence.

     "A total fine of $1,450 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from March 20 to 26 last year," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
