The Labour Department will hold a three-day job fair at 1/F, Fantasy Island, Maritime Square, 33 Tsing King Road, Tsing Yi from tomorrow to Wednesday (May 25-27) from 11am to 6pm.
A total of 60 companies will participate in the event and offer about 3,700 vacancies. Twenty companies will set up counters each day and conduct on-the-spot recruitment.
Companies joining the job fair come from various industries including retail, catering and property management. Vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as sales, shop assistant, waiter/waitress, security guard, technician, shop supervisor and manager. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may click to the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
Seventy-seven percent of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs and most offer a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. More than 90% of the vacancies require Form 5 educational level or below and more than 60% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers may submit job applications and have opportunity for selection interview on-the-spot. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot job-seeking registration. Admission is free. All members of the public are welcome.
