Macau delegation visits Hong Kong on anti-drug exchange (with photos)

     A delegation from Macau visited Hong Kong today (May 21) and exchanged views with their Hong Kong counterparts on combating drug abuse in the two places.

     The Commissioner for Narcotics, Ms Sally Wong, welcomed the delegation and introduced the latest information on drug trends and anti-drug policy in Hong Kong.

     The Chairman of Action Committee Against Narcotics (ACAN), Professor Daniel Shek Tan-lei, the Chairman of the ACAN Sub-committee on Preventive Education and Publicity, Ms Scarlett Pong Oi-lan, and several ACAN members also met the delegates.  They gave a briefing on ACAN's structure and work and shared their experience and views on how to curb the drug abuse problem.

     The Macau delegation, comprising members from the Narcotics Control Committee, Social Welfare Bureau and relevant departments, was led by the Vice-President of the Narcotics Control Committee cum Director of the Social Welfare Bureau, Mr Ip Peng-kin.  They toured the Hong Kong Jockey Club Drug InfoCentre after the meeting.
