CS to visit Beijing

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will depart for Beijing this evening (May 18) to meet with relevant departments of the Central People's Government and discuss matters relating to Hong Kong's participation in the post-quake reconstruction of Sichuan.  He will be accompanied by the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam; the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Joshua Law; and the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Mak Chai-kwong.

     Mr Tang and Mr Lam will return to Hong Kong on May 20 and May 19 respectively.  During their absence, the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, will be acting Chief Secretary for Administration, and the Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Raymond Tam, will be acting Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs.
