The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, will lead a financial services delegation to visit Guangdong Province on May 19 and 20. The delegation will follow up the implementation of the liberalisation measures relating to the financial services industry of the Supplement VI to the ˇ§Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangementˇ¨.
Arriving Guangzhou on May 19, the delegation will meet with officials of the Guangdong provincial government and local financial market regulatory authorities. They will exchange views on financial co-operation between Hong Kong and Guangdong. Professor Chan will also officiate at the opening ceremony of the ˇ§Listing and Financing in Hong Kong Seminarˇ¨. The seminar is jointly organised by the financial services agencies of Governments of Guangdong and Hong Kong and relevant financial services organisations.
On May 20, the delegation will go to Foshan and attend the Foshan-Hong Kong Financial Co-operation Seminar hosted by the Foshan municipal government and relevant authorities. The delegation will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon.
