Hongkong Post today (May 14) held the 10th Inter-School Stamps Exhibits Competition prize presentation ceremony at Hall 5G, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), the venue of the HONG KONG 2009 – 23rd Asian International Stamp Exhibition. The ceremony was officiated by Mr Bunny Chan Chung-bun, the Chairman of the Commission on Youth and Mr Dan Choi, the Assistant Postmaster General (Business Development).
This competition was organised by Hongkong Post, with the Education Bureau as co-organiser. This inspirational and educational local competition aims to nurture interest in philately among youngsters and students. With support from parents, teachers and principals, 120 frames of stamp exhibits were received from the 199 students participating in this year's event. Awards were presented to the winners at the ceremony. The list of winners is attached at Appendix.
A total of 99 frames featuring the entries of the winners and other participants of the 10th Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition will be exhibited at the venue. The objective of this competition ties in with the theme of "Youth Philately" of the HONG KONG 2009 - 23rd Asian International Stamp Exhibition, during which world-class stamp exhibits from around the globe will be on display. The exhibition is open to the public and admission is free.
