Public Housing Estates join Clean HK Day (with photos)

     In support of the territory-wide campaign to promote the city's cleanliness and hygiene, all public housing estates of the Housing Authority carried out cleansing operation as part of the Clean Hong Kong Day programme today (May 10).

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Ms Eva Cheng, paid a special visit to Tin Yan Estate in Tin Shui Wai to solicit tenantsˇ¦ cooperation in helping to keep their environment clean. She also called on the tenants to maintain indoor ventilation.

     "The Housing Department would also tighten up enforcement actions against misdeeds polluting the estate environment, including littering and spitting," said Ms Cheng.

     Members of the Estate Management Advisory Committees from various regions also took part in the Clean Hong Kong Day programme today. The more noticeable ones include those in Shek Pai Wan Estate, Kwai Chung Estate, Choi Hung Estate and Lek Yuen Estate.
