CHP set up hotline for travelers returning from areas affected by swine flu

     A spokesman for the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health today (April 29) said a hotline will be set up to facilitate enquiries from people who developed flu-like symptoms and had travelled to human swine-flu affected areas during the 7-day period before onset of symptoms.

     The spokesman said people who meet the above criteria were urged to call the hotline 2125 1111 to facilitate follow up arrangements by the health authority.

     The hotline will start operation at 9am tomorrow.  It will be manned by public health officers on a 24-hour basis.

     ˇ§People who presented with fever, cough, sore throat or have difficulty in breathing and had travelled to the affected areas during the 7-day period before onset of symptoms, they should call the hotline immediately.

     ˇ§Public health officers will assess their condition and arrange follow up as appropriate,ˇ¨ the spokesman said.
