Chief Secretary for Administration leads a business delegation to Guangzhou and Foshan

     Chief Secretary for Administration Mr Henry Tang will lead a business delegation to Guangzhou on Thursday (April 23), embarking on a series of visits to nine cities in the Pearl River Delta.  The visit aims to help the Hong Kong business sector understand the implementation of "The Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta" and explore economic co-operation opportunities between Guangdong and Hong Kong under the new landscape.

     In Guangzhou, the delegation will visit Nansha Development Zone and Guangdong RFID Technology Service Centre, exchange views with leaders of the municipal government and call on leaders of the provincial government.  On Friday (April 24), the delegation will visit Foshan, where they will call on the city leaders and visit the Guangdong Hi-tech Service Zone for Financial Institutions and the Creative Industry Park.

     The delegation comprises Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam; Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau; Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Miss Yvonne Choi; Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Ms Au King Chi; and more than 90 business delegates.

     While Mr Tang is out of town, Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, will be acting as Chief Secretary for Administration.
