Replacement Demand for Rates and/ or Government Rent
****************************************************

Due to problems with the computer system, some data in the Replacement Demand for Rates and/ or Government Rent issued by the 1823 Call Centre on behalf of the Rating and Valuation Department are inaccurate.  So far, the Centre has received two complaints on inaccurate data being found in the Replacement Demand for Rates and/ or Government Rent.

The Centre has issued Replacement Demand to 869 citizens.  As at 8pm today (April 17), the Centre has already contacted 541 citizens and so far no new cases have been found. The Centre has also sent SMS messages to 328 citizens to inform them of the situation.  They are requested to contact us as soon as possible so that we can verify the information on the Replacement Demand for them.  We will continue to call those citizens to verify the information for them.  Should any citizen be affected, the Rating and Valuation Department will handle the payment overdue cases with discretion and make necessary adjustment to the sum paid, where appropriate.

The computer system of the Rating and Valuation Department is running normally.  The information on the Demand for Rates and/ or Government Rent issued by the department is correct.

If any member of the public has called the Centre on or after March 26 for issue of Replacement Demand for Rates and/ or Government Rent, they can call 1823 or 2152 0111 for enquiry.
