In response to media enquiries, a Home Affairs Department spokesman said relevant government departments and the owner of the lot have inspected a tree outside Yuen Long・s Tin Hau Temple.
:The tree is on a private land which belongs to a Tso Tong , and was reported to have been suffering from poor health and would pose a danger to the public.
:The Yuen Long District Office (YLDO) and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) have been in close liaison with the lot owner on the conditions of the tree.
:In view of a major event at the temple to be held this coming Saturday, representatives from YLDO, LCSD, Lands Department, the owner and the owner's contractor inspected the tree this afternoon.
:It was observed that the tree has no immediate danger of falling but some unhealthy branches should be trimmed. We understand that the lot owner would arrange the unhealthy branches to be trimmed tomorrow, and that the lot owner plans to employ an expert later to conduct a more detailed health check for the tree and determine any improvement measures required.;
