No requests for assistance in past two days from HK residents in Bangkok

     The Immigration Department has received no requests in the past two days for assistance from Hong Kong travellers, while the 19 requests made shortly after the Government¡¦s April 13 travel warning on Bangkok have been promptly resolved.

     Up to 4pm today (April 16), the department had received 215 general enquiries.

     A Government spokesman said today, "The travel warning on Bangkok is still in force.  We will continue to closely monitor developments.

     "Hong Kong residents who are in Bangkok should attend to their personal safety and avoid places of protest and large gatherings of people."

     Residents who need assistance may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852) 1868.
