Co-operation from visitors to Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate requested
********************************************************

The soon to be cleared Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate (LNTK) has recently become a hotspot for visitors keen to record the nostalgic features of the estate. In view of possible inconvenience caused to the remaining tenants, the Housing Department is calling for visitors' co-operation and consideration.

A spokesperson for the department said today (April 8): "We understand that visitors are reminiscing about life in LNTK Estate and are thus eager to capture some memorable sights. However, the sudden influx of outsiders has caused concern to our tenants.

"As the landlord, the department is responsible for the management of the estate and protecting the interests of our tenants. Therefore we strongly advise visitors against trespassing and causing nuisance to tenants," he said.

LNTK Estate was built in 1969. There are a total of seven blocks providing about 5,400 units. The Housing Authority decided to include the estate in the Comprehensive Redevelopment Programme in 1988. The tenants have been moving out continually under the redevelopment programme. Currently, about 3,100 households and 160 commercial tenants remain in the estate.
