Leaflet gives safety tips on flying model aircraft (with photo)
*********************************************************

The Civil Aviation Department (CAD) has produced a new leaflet to promote public awareness of flying model aircraft safely.

The leaflet, titled "Safety in Radio-controlled Model Aircraft Flying", has been published in light of the growing popularity of the flying of model aircraft.

The leaflet, in simple language, provides some useful tips and reminders for people who enjoy flying model aircraft. These include information on areas where model aircraft flying is forbidden, tips on safe flying and choices of flying sites.

Model aircraft flyers are reminded to exercise good airmanship, be considerate and keep the hobby safe.

The CAD has distributed the leaflets to various model aircraft flying clubs in Hong Kong.

Members of the public may also obtain a copy of the leaflet from the Public Enquiry Service Centres of the 18 District Offices.

More information on safe flying of model aircraft is available at the CAD website at www.cad.gov.hk/english/model_aircraft.html .
