Appointments to Board of Trustees and Council of Lord Wilson Heritage Trust

     The Government today (March 27) published in the Gazette the appointments to the Board of Trustees and the Council of the Lord Wilson Heritage Trust.

     The Chief Executive has re-appointed Dr Philip Wu Po-him as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.  The appointments to the board also include 10 current members and one new member.

     The following is the list of members of the Board of Trustees:

     The Chief Executive has also re-appointed Professor Lee Chack-fan as chairman of the council.  Six existing council members have been re-appointed and two new members appointed.

     The list of members of the council is as follows:

     The term of the appointments is two years from April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2011.

     The trust is a statutory body aiming to preserve and conserve the human heritage of Hong Kong.  The main function of the Board of Trustees is to manage the investment of the trust capital to ensure that a steady income will be generated to finance the trust's activities.  The board also gives direction on how the objects of the trust should be met.  The council is on the other hand concerned with the execution of the board¡¦s decisions, and the implementation of activities for promoting heritage preservation and conservation in Hong Kong.
