Hospital Authority Updates on Drug Replacement Arrangement
**********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesman announced that the two-week special arrangement to replace Allopurinol 100mg at the pharmacy of 15 designated public hospitals ended today (March 20). The service began on March 8.

So far, a total of 20,513 patients have had the drug replaced. The HA will check the records to identify the patients who have not yet had their drugs replaced. A letter will be sent next week to remind them about the replacement.

Starting on Monday (March 23), patients who need to replace their drugs or get more of the drug can go to the pharmacy of the hospital or out-patient clinic where they have regular follow-up appointments. Service hours will follow the normal operating hours of the pharmacies concerned. The replacement does not require a prior booking or medical consultation.
