The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (March 20) on the widening of a section of Tung Wan Tau Road along Silver Mine Bay Beach in Mui Wo to cope with more visitors in the area.
The proposed works include widening of a section of Tung Wan Tau Road of approximate 750 metres long; permanent closure and demolition of sections of the existing footpath; temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing footpath, staircase, sitting-out area and footpath accesses; and other ancillary works including landscaping works and modification of railings.
The plan and scheme of the project are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:
(i) Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central;
(ii) Islands District Office, 20th Floor, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central,
(iii) Islands District Office ¡V Mui Wo Sub-office, Ground Floor and 2nd Floor, Mui Wo Government Offices, 2 Ngan Kwong Wan Road, Mui Wo, Lantau Island; and
(iv) District Lands Office, Islands, 19th Floor, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central.
Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or the use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before May 19.
