Vacancy in Wan Chai District Council

The Director of Home Affairs declares by notice in the Gazette today (March 20) the existence of a vacancy in the Wan Chai District Council (Canal Road Constituency).
The District Court sentenced the then Wan Chai District Councillor Lee Kai-hung to five months' imprisonment for fraud and misconduct in public office. In accordance with Section 26(c) of the District Councils Ordinance, the office has become vacant since February 20.
The Registration and Electoral Office will arrange for a by-election.
