The Government today (March 16) announced that the Chief Executive had appointed Mr Tim Lui Tim-leung as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Directorate Salaries and Conditions of Service for a term of two years with effect from April 1, 2009. Mr Lui will succeed Mr Vincent Cheng Hoi-chuen who will retire from the directorate committee on the same day.
The Chief Executive has also re-appointed Mr Chow Chung-kong and appointed Mr Stanley Wong Yuen-fai as members of the directorate committee, both for a term of two years with effect from April 1, 2009.
The Government expresses gratitude for the service of Mr Cheng who will retire from the directorate committee after serving as its chairman for the past seven years.
The directorate committee advises the Government on matters relating to the structure, pay and conditions of service of the directorate ranks in the civil service. Other serving members of the directorate committee are Ms Chiang Lai-yuen, Ms Teresa Ko Yuk-yin and Mr Nicky Lo Kar-chun.
