The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (February 27) obtained one order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $350,000 against two employers in the District Court.
The District Court today issued judgment against two employers, Best Leader Engineering Limited and Chung Kwong Development Limited trading as Choi Ming Restaurant. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $309,752.43 and the outstanding balance of $42,150 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 37 and 16 employees of the defendants.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court also ordered the defendants to pay costs of $930 each.
