The Hospital Authority (HA) today (February 26) announced the appointment of Dr Nancy Tung Sau-ying as the new Cluster Chief Executive of Kowloon West Cluster (KWC) and the Hospital Chief Executive of Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH). Dr Tung will assume the new post in April 2009.
The HA Chief Executive, Mr Shane Solomon, said, "We were delighted to interview many good candidates who demonstrated passion towards public healthcare services. After careful deliberation, the Selection Board recommended the appointment of Dr Tung as the designate Cluster Chief Executive of KWC and Hospital Chief Executive of PMH. The HA Board today approved the appointment."
Dr Nancy Tung started her career in administrative medicine in 1990. She possesses rich experience in various areas of health service management, including service planning and co-ordination at the head office, regional office, cluster levels and hospital operations. Prior to her current position as Hospital Chief Executive of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Tai Po Hospital, she was the Hospital Chief Executive of Tung Wah Eastern Hospital. She had also worked in the Hospital Authority Head Office as Executive Manager.
Dr Tung has good organisational and interpersonal skills and also extensive experience collaborating with community partners, building networks and establishing new models of service delivery. She was instrumental to the integration of the management teams of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Tai Po Hospital as well as the implementation of the HA Drug Formulary piloted in the New Territories East Cluster.
Mr Solomon wishes Dr Tung every success in taking up her new challenge. On behalf of the HA, Mr Solomon also expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr Lily Chiu, current Cluster Chief Executive of KWC and Hospital Chief Executive of PMH, for her distinctive contributions in public healthcare services over the years.
