Sham Shui Po food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Sham Shui Po to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises (¡¥¸Uµo¡¦), at Shop C, ground floor, 150 - 152 Kiu Kiang Street, was ordered to close from today (February 24) to March 9.

     ¡§In August and October last year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the food premises,¡¨ a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     ¡§A total fine of $5,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension.¡¨

     He said the food premises also had convictions in respect of improper storage of eating utensils in November 2007 and illegal extension of food business in February last year.

     ¡§A total fine of $3,900 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from April 23 - 29 last year,¡¨ the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
