The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (February 10) obtained orders in the District Court against four employers for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $460,000.
The court today issued judgments against Wing Wai Transportation Company Limited, Achiever Solutions Limited, Entente Construction Engineering Company Limited and Hotex International Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA $246,439.53, $83,786.44, $66,966.11 and $63,853.82, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 17, 10, 11 and 1 respective employees.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees¡¦ MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The court ordered the defendants to each pay costs of $930.
