The "Special Topics Report No. 49" on social statistics is published by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) today (February 9).
The report contains the findings of a special enquiry on "Hong Kong residents working in the mainland of China" which was conducted by the C&SD via the General Household Survey during July to September 2008. This enquiry targeted at people in the Hong Kong Resident Population who had ever worked in the mainland of China during the year before enumeration. Information was collected on their socio-economic characteristics and their working conditions in the mainland of China.
The report includes findings of the above enquiry with some 30 statistical tables and charts. Users can download the publication free of charge at the website of the C&SD (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/products/publications/index.jsp).
Print version of the publication is available for sale at HK$62 per issue in early March 2009.
