Yuen Long food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises ('¬x°O¿Nþ¶º©±'), at Block E, Kin Shing Mansion, ground floor, Mau Tan Street, was ordered to close from today (February 6) to February 19.

     "There was a conviction last July in respect of illegal use of open space at the food premises, and another in November" a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     "A total fine of $3,000 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."

     He said the food premises also had two convictions in respect of improper storage of open food in January and February last year.

     "A total fine of $4,000 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from June 18-24 last year," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
