The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will visit Japan from February 16-19 and Korea from February 19 to 20. During the visit, Mr Tsang will meet political and business leaders in Japan and Korea to exchange views on the global economic crisis, and to update them on Hong Kong's latest developments.
While in Japan, Mr Tsang will meet senior government officials. He will also address a luncheon organised by the Tokyo Economic and Trade Office for Japanese political and business leaders, officiate at the launching ceremony of the Japan-Hong Kong Tourism Exchange Year, and attend the launch of the "Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong" Japan Office of the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
While in Korea, Mr Tsang will meet senior government officials and address a luncheon to be hosted by Korean trade and industry associations.
Mr Tsang will be accompanied by the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Norman Chan; the Private Secretary to Chief Executive, Mr Kenneth Mak; the Information Co-ordinator, Mr Andy Ho; and the Assistant Director (Media), Mr Vic Yau.
During Mr Tsang's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will be the acting Chief Executive.
