A government spokesman said today (February 2) that the Immigration Department had contacted the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to find out more about a fire in a bar in Changle City, Fujian.
The GDETO has learnt from Mainland authorities that a Hong Kong resident died in the incident. The Immigration Department and the GDETO are trying to contact the family of the Hong Kong victim to render practical assistance.
