Thailand-bound Hong Kong travellers should watch local situation
*******************************************************

Hong Kong residents who plan to visit Thailand should pay close attention to the situation there before their trip, a spokesman for the Security Bureau said today (January 11).

People who need to go to Bangkok should confirm their flight and transport arrangements beforehand. During their stay in Bangkok or the southern parts of Thailand, they should also exercise caution, take note of any change of situation and avoid places where there are protests and large gatherings of people.

Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852) 1868.
