The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) obtained an order in the District Court against an employer for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $70,000.
The District Court on December 30 issued judgment against Genderble Limited. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA $70,770, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to seven employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered the defendant to pay costs of $930.
