The third quarter 2008 issue of Quarterly Supplement to Statistical Digest of the Services Sector is published by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) today (January 2). This issue is now available for downloading (in PDF format) free of charge at the website of C&SD (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/products/publications/index.jsp).
During the past decade, the services sector in the Hong Kong economy has gained greater prominence. Accurate and detailed statistics play an important role in support of the Government's initiatives on services promotion. This issue of the Quarterly Supplement provides up-to-date quarterly statistics (from the second quarter of 2007 to the third quarter of 2008) for the more important statistical series on 14 major service industries/domains of Hong Kong.
The print version of this issue will be available for sale at HK$64 per copy in mid-January 2009. Purchase can be done in the following ways :
(i) Purchase in person at the Publications Unit of the C&SD (Address: 19/F Wanchai Tower, 12 Harbour Road, Wan Chai; Tel.: 2582 3025).
(ii) Complete a mail order form which is available for downloading at the website of the C&SD (www.censtatd.gov.hk/products_and_services/other_services/provision_of_stat/mail_ordering_of_publications/index.jsp) and return it to C&SD.
(iii) Purchase online at the Government Bookstore of the Information Services Department (www.bookstore.gov.hk).
C&SD has recently conducted a review on the printing of statistical publications and has decided that the print version of Quarterly Supplement to Statistical Digest of the Services Sector will no longer be produced starting from the first quarter 2009 issue while that of Annual Edition of Statistical Digest of the Services Sector will continue to be produced. Both publications will continue to be available for downloading free of charge from the C&SD website at the time of their publication.
