Immigration Department seeks further information on fire in Bangkok

     The Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has contacted the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong (OCMFA) and the Chinese Embassy in Thailand for further information on a fire in a nightclub at Bangkok, Thailand today (January 1).

     A government spokesman said today (January 1) that the Immigration Department had not received any request for assistance from Hong Kong residents in this regard so far.  Any Hong Kong residents who need assistance when travelling overseas may contact the Immigration Department's Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit by calling its 24-hour hotline at (852)1868.
