The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, went to Kwun Tong district today (December 22) to gain an understanding of the needs of residents there.
Accompanied by Mrs Tsang, he visited the Christian Family Service Centre where a wide range of community services are provided to local residents.
He joined a Christmas party for young children attending the child care centre there and used the opportunity to exchange views with parents and caretakers. He was briefed on the Neighbourhood Support Child Care Project in which local housewives are encouraged to look after neighbours' children who are in need of care when their parents are at work.
He also visited the apm shopping centre to talk to shop owners and Christmas shoppers and had lunch at a fast food restaurant there.
Through the visit, the Financial Secretary was able to gather more up-to-date feedback on the latest economic situation as perceived by members of the public.
