The Financial Secretary has re-appointed Mr Kenneth Kwok, Professor Liu Pak-wai and Mr Shengman Zhang as non-executive directors of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) under the authority delegated by the Chief Executive for a term of two years, with effect from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010.
Announcing the appointment today (December 19), a government spokesman said, ˇ§As non-executive directors of SFC, Mr Kwok, Professor Liu and Mr Shengman Zhang have been instrumental in enhancing the corporate governance, accountability and transparency of the SFC and bringing insightful and independent advice to the commissionˇ¦s policy formulation process over the past two years. We look forward to their continued contribution to the work of the SFC.ˇ¨
The SFC currently has seven non-executive directors. The other non-executive directors are Dr York Liao, Mr Christopher Cheng, Mrs Angelina Lee and Mr Chan Kam-lam.
