The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) announced today (December 15) that the remaining 306 stalls at the 2009 Lunar New Year fairs would be put up for open auction on December 23 (Tuesday).
A total of 152 wet goods stalls, 153 dry goods stalls and one fast food stall, which were not let out in recent auctions, will be re-auctioned at the Assembly Hall, second floor, Lai Chi Kok Government Offices, 19 Lai Wan Road, Lai Chi Kok, starting at 9.30am. Stalls in Victoria Park will be put up for auction first in the morning session, followed by those in the New Territories. Stalls in Kowloon will be put up for auction in the afternoon session.
The stalls are located at Victoria Park, Sha Tsui Road Playground in Tsuen Wan, Po Hong Park in Tseung Kwan O, Man Yee Playground in Sai Kung, Yuen Wo Playground in Sha Tin, Tin Hau Temple Fung Shui Square in Tai Po, Kwai Chung Sports Ground in Kwai Tsing, Open space in front of Tin Hau Temple in Tuen Mun, Fa Hui Park, Morse Park, Kwun Tong Recreation Ground and Cheung Sha Wan Playground. The Lunar New Year fairs will be held from January 20-26, 2009.

Bidders must be at least 18 years old and anyone can bid for more than one stall.
A successful bidder is required to pay the bid price of the stall at the fall of the hammer. Legal proceedings will be instituted against bidders who use dishonoured cheques or fail to pay the sum required immediately after the auction and recovery action on the bid prices in arrears may also be taken.
A successful bidder who fails to pay the sum required immediately after the auction will forfeit his or her right to the stall and the stall concerned will be re-auctioned immediately.
Stalls which are not let out in this round of auctions will be available from 9.30am on December 30 (Tuesday), at the following locations for letting at their reserve prices on a first-come-first-served basis:
