Applications invited for Victoria Park Arts Corner stalls

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is inviting individuals and subvented non-governmental organisations to apply to operate a new round of Arts Corner stalls at Victoria Park. Applications will be open from tomorrow (December 8) to December 19.

     The Arts Corner (Phase 10) will be set up at the South Pavilion Plaza in the park from February 1 to November 29, 2009. The stalls will run from 10am to 6pm on Sundays and public holidays. Stall operation will be suspended when major events are being held in the park.

     A total of 36 stalls will be operated to sell handicraft or provide arts services. Handicrafts and artworks to be offered include pottery, straw-weaving works, dough models, paper craftworks, carving works, accessories, floral artworks, sand paintings, cloth artworks and clay works. Services to be provided include photography, painting, calligraphy, silhouette cutting and sketching/ caricature.

     Application forms will be available from tomorrow at the Victoria Park Management Office on Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, and the Eastern District Leisure Services Offices, 3/F, Quarry Bay Municipal Services Building, 38 Quarry Bay Street, Hong Kong.

     Interested parties should submit completed application forms with copies of proof of any professional knowledge in the relevant fields and samples of handicrafts or artworks (not more than three pieces) to the Victoria Park Management Office on or before 5pm on December 19.

     Successful applicants are required to pay a registration fee of $100 and a security deposit of $1,000 for each stall. The security deposit will be forfeited if the stall operation attendance falls below 70% or if the agreement is terminated due to failure in fulfilling the agreement terms. They are each required to effect and keep in force public liability insurance with an indemnity of a minimum of $6.5 million during the agreement period.
