The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (December 5) on proposed amendments to the works associated with the Central-Wan Chai Bypass and Island Eastern Corridor Link.
The amendments are made to remove parts of the originally proposed temporary reclamation works which are no longer required. They include deletion of the proposed temporary breakwater to the north of the north breakwater of Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter; deletion of the proposed temporary piled wave walls to the north of the east breakwater and the north breakwater of Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter; and revision of the proposed limit of the works area.
The amendments plans and scheme are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:
(i) Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central;
(ii) Wan Chai District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground floor, 2 O'Brien Road, Wan Chai;
(iii) Eastern District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground floor, Eastern Law Courts Building, 29 Tai On Street, Sai Wan Ho;
(iv) District Lands Office, Hong Kong West and South, 20th floor, Southorn Centre, 130-150 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai; and
(v) District Lands Office, Hong Kong East, 19th floor, Southorn Centre, 130-150 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai.
Any person who wishes to object to the proposed amendments should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before February 3, 2009.
