The Transport Department (TD) appeals to New Territories (NT) taxi drivers at the airport to stay calm in order not to cause inconvenience to the traffic at the airport.
A TD spokesman said that the authority fully understood the demand of the NT taxi trade and would promptly process the NT taxi fare adjustment application according to the established procedures. The authority will consult the Legislative Council¡¦s (Legco) Panel on Transport on December 19 and the Transport Advisory Committee at the end of this month. The application will then be submitted to Chief Executive in Council before proceeding with the negative vetting procedures in Legco.
