Hongkong Post announced today (December 2) that the 2008 Prestige Annual Stamp Album, 2008 Annual Stamp Pack and the Postage Prepaid Lunar New Year Greeting Card Series No. 1 (Air Mail) will be available for sale at 37 philatelic offices, the PostShop in the General Post Office and the Hongkong Post Internet Shopping Mall ¡§ShopThruPost¡¨ (www.shopthrupost.hk) starting from December 11 (Thursday) while stocks last.
The 2008 Prestige Annual Stamp Album provides a complete collection of all special/commemorative stamps, souvenir sheets and stamp sheetlets issued by Hongkong Post in 2008. It is sold at $440 each and comes with a compliments card to enable the album to be used as a gift. The 2008 Annual Stamp Pack, sold at $160 each, contains a full set of all special/commemorative stamps issued in 2008.
The Postage Prepaid Lunar New Year Greeting Card is the first set of cards of this kind issued by Hongkong Post. The greeting cards conveying Lunar New Year festive wishes are designed by Mr George Tang. They are environmentally friendly in that they obviate the need for postage stamps and envelopes. The greeting cards, prepaid in airmail postage denominations, are sold in sets of six cards and at $30 per set at all philatelic offices. A sales restriction of five sets of cards per queueing customer will be imposed on the first day of sale.
