LLB members visit licensed liquor premises (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Liquor Licensing Board:
     
     Members of the Liquor Licensing Board, led by Board Chairman Mr Felix Fong, visited a number of premises with liquor licences in Tsim Sha Tsui, Central and Wan Chai districts early this morning (November 30). The purpose was to better understand the operation of different types of premises with liquor licences and enforcement actions by the Police.

     During the visit, members were briefed by the Police on various issues related to the regulation of premises with liquor licences, including crowd control, traffic flow, law and order, safety, as well as related hygiene and noise problems.

     Representatives from the Fire Services Department, the Buildings Department and the Environmental Protection Department also joined the visit.

     From January to October this year, the Board issued 655 new licences and renewed 4,134 liquor and club liquor licences.

     Participants in the visit included Board members Ms Mar Yuet-har (Vice-chairman), Mr Cheung Fo-tai, Mr Chu King-yuen, Mr Ho Hin-ming, Mr Kong Wai-yeung, Mr Mark Lin, Mr Wong Koon-man, Mr Yau How-boa and Mr Young Siu-chuen, as well as Deputy Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene (Environmental Hygiene), Ms Alice Lau.
