The following is a statement by the Chairman (Designate) of the Broadcasting Authority, Mr Ambrose Ho:
I am happy to accept the appointment as Chairman of the Broadcasting Authority.
As the industry regulator, the Broadcasting Authority has an important role in maintaining fairness in dealing with matters concerning the industry and handling complaints. The authority will continue to facilitate competition and technological innovation in the industry, and encourage greater diversity in the choice of programmes to be provided to the public.
I look forward to working closely with members of the authority and the broadcasting industry in this common objective.
